Suit, No Car, No Meals, and Bed bugs - April 16, 2019

I got the suit this week. It fits. Thank you so much Aaron, Angie and Cole. It is great.  I'm doing good. Our miles this month were 500 to we literally can't use the car anymore because we used that much already . They sent us out the limits today. It takes about 20 miles to get to the nearest member's house. We let the other elders use our bus passes, so we have to get them back now. They are coming over today to sleep here because they have bed bugs. Ohio has tons of bed bugs. It is crazy. I haven't had them yet, but i am sure it will happen. I got Elly's graduation announcement, that is crazy! We were going to use our bikes but I need a new inner tube. Brother Bruchett is going to pick us up today to do laundry at his house. So, that will be good. We don't get to eat at member's houses anymore, so that has been a change. It is hard to have enough money for the month when we have to buy all of the meals. We can eat with non members, but that is it. We are teaching a guy from here. He has some addictions so we are working on that. Miracles can happen. I did my first baptism interview this week being district leader. That was a great experience. He was a solid guy. It was great to meet him. We have been taking a guy out to teach with us. He was putting in his mission papers when he was in a bad car accident. One of his friends died in it. He has been recovering so it has been a cool experience to have him go out and teach with us. A lady from my first area died this week. She was so fun and happy to be around. She will be missed. Things are going well here. We are excited about Easter but can't eat with anyone so we will most likely be home that day. I'll talk to you all next week.

We Got A Car!!! - April 8, 2019

It's been a good week here in marble cliff. We have been working like crazy to find people to teach. Thanks to President Stratford we got a car! We are super excited and are praying it will help us in the work. This week we played Frisbee golf with the ward which was super fun. Elder Rasmussen loves Frisbee golf so he enjoyed it. One of the members had a one wheel which he let us try out. I'll send a video of my companion on it. We then got to watch general conference with Bro. Chen and that was great he made kinda Asian style pulled pork sandwiches and it was so good. We then got to watch it with the Yearsley's and that was fun. He has a drink fridge with tons of sodas which was a plus. My favorite talk was "the immediate goodness of God". God's always willing to help and that's what I've learned this week. This week district council was all focused on the saviors love and it was super sweet! I'll send a Pic of these pictures Elder Klinkowski made.
Everyone loved Elly's ties and scrunchies.

Sad Week, But the Work Moves On - April 1, 2019

It has been a good week. Kind of sad though. We have been visiting a man in the hospital here regularly. He had colon cancer. We went to visit him the other night and couldn’t find him. We were told that he had passed away. That was tough. We also learned this week that a member who had driven us to our last transfer passed away this week as well. He was very good to the missionaries in the whole mission. We are going to go to his funeral. Life is short.
We have been working hard. I ran my first district meeting this week. The other missionaries said it was the best meeting they had been to. I got Elly's ties and scrunches. I am going to give them out at our next district meeting this week.
I am doing good. It is getting a little warmer her. We aren’t allowed to have dinners with member anymore so that is a bummer. It was nice to be able to visit with them. We can only do 20 minute lessons.
We are working on our teaching pool and trying to find service opportunities. I’m doing good. I could use a new suit, so there’s that. :)
I am excited to conference this week. Our mission president said it will be crazy.
Love you all

District Leader, Needles, & Hugging - March 20, 2019

This week has been a crazy and fun one. We have transfers tomorrow and I am staying in Columbus. Elder Henshaw is being transferred. I got called to be the new district leader so that should be fun. I get to run district councils every week, plan exchanges, and call the elders and sisters in my district to check up on them. I'm excited it should be a good learning experience.

This week we did service with one of the members. Someone drove up on his wet lawn so we helped fill in the holes and get his yard fixed up. He gave Elder Henshaw a "gardening" knife. We also wen to the children's hospital in our area and gave a blessing to a little boy who was there. His family is from the Gahanna area. The hospital is amazing.

We found some needles on the sidewalk this week. Sketch We were running to the children's hospital so we wouldn't be late and this big man started yelling at us and chasing us. Slow down why are you running from me. So we stopped. he wanted us to pray with him after that he put us both in headlocks and didn't let go for a little while. Then he asked me if I liked people touching me. I said no if you know me you know this. lol  It was an interesting experience.

We are teaching some great people and working hard. We also went to the library this week. We study in there. I'll send a pic. An elder in the mission drew a picture of me. I'll send that too.

Talk to you next week

Walked, Walked, & Walked, & Walked More - March 11, 2019

This week we walked, walked, bused, bused, knocked, and knocked ALOT! Our area is huge so it takes 30 min - 1 hour to drive anywhere. If we ride the bus it takes more than that. So, it is a lot of walking in the cold snow or braving the bus. We don't ride our bikes because it has been so cold and they get stolen in this area. My companion and I are doing good. We are happy and just working. Our area is the most primitive in the mission. We don't have a dishwasher, laundry machine and stuff like that. I know first world problems, but its rough. lol  This was a good week. We went to the Fisher's sealing. I was able to be the witness in the temple. It was a great experience. We also went to the library and checked out some recipe books. (If anyone has good recipes, please email them to me) i made lemon chicken and it was awesome. 8 1/2 score from Elder Henshaw. We also found a Scientology church. Elly loves the show about Scientology so i sent a pic for her. We met them and got some pamphlets from them. They were nice. We were invited to watch a video in the back but declined. We didn't have time. I got the music you sent and I'm excited about the Aviators hat. All in all it was a good week. we are working hard and had a great lesson with one of our investigators. I'll talk to you next week.

Lots of Pictures - March 4, 2019

We talked to Sayre this week. He is doing good in Columbus. They are busy working 14 hours days walking the streets of Columbus. This week they had district council. They tried to liven it up by acting out a shooting scenario with cap guns. lol  Sayre went on exchanges. They found 5 new people to teach on exchanges. So, it was successful. They took a lot of pictures. He is working hard and enjoying every minute. It is cold there. The high was 6 degrees yesterday. He got the $5 Mcdonalds card from Grandma Linda so he was hyped about that. She never misses a week to email him or send mail. He likes his companion and is doing great.
