Cambridge, Mother's Day, Skunk - May 12, 2019

Cambridge is a lot like Price, UT. It is about the same size. It used to be a coal mining town. There is a small branch here. People have lived here a long time. There isn't a lot of new people. It has a big problem with heroine, so that is hard. It is very green though. We are really close to the Pennsylvania/ West Virginia border.
There is a genealogical society here and we help with them. We have also been putting service on the local Facebook pages. This has been working well. We have been mowing lawns and helping with anything people need. It is nice because it keeps us busy. We have been trying to get people in the town to play horse shoes with us or a pick up baseball game, but no one seems interested. We will keep trying.
This next Sunday I am giving a talk, leading the music, and teaching the Sunday school class. So, I am keeping busy.
We attended another church this past week. The pastor told us if we came to his church he would talk to us about our church. We went and called us out (not nicely) during the sermon. We just shook his hand at the end and said thanks for inviting us, but he wouldn't look at us in the eye and we left. They didn't have a piano and that was interesting. I kept trying to get us back on key. It was an interesting experience.
Last week, I was eating and my tooth cracked down the middle. I think its ok. I can get it fixed when I get back.
My mission president told me that I am the elder who knows the most about the Bible. I really like to study it, so that was a good compliment.
We've been to a couple of Dutchman Amish restaurants. They are really good. We saw some teenage Amish kids running away the other day. It was interesting.
We also met a guy who had a pet skunk. So, we got to hold and pet a skunk all night. That was interesting. Pretty cool.
It has been a good week. I like this area and my companion. Have a great week
