The Book Loft & Life in Columbus - February 25, 2019

This week has been a good week. Elder Henshaw and I have been working hard and having fun. Shane Poole from one of my previous areas came to Columbus and took us out to dinner. It was great! This week my mom sent me pepper spray for my key chain and we almost had to use it. lol We were at Panera and a man came up to us and asked for change, this happens a lot here. We said we didn't have any, and he just began shouting profanities at us and freaking out. Luckily he moved on, although we did have a plan if he didn't. jk 
We started teaching a man who has had a rough time of it. He was without a home for a long time. He was so excited to hear about the plan of salvation. He just kept saying this makes sense. It was great. 
We taught another man who has been looking for the truth and someone to study with. That was a cool experience.
We went to the Dream Center Church again this week to talk to people. We don't think they realize that we are elders of our church. They had us hand out programs as people came into the church. That was interesting. It was nice to meet a lot of different people. 
Elder Henshaw experienced my fear of elevators this past week also. We had to ride on an old elevator at the children's hospital, next time I'm taking the stairs. haha
We went to the book loft today. My dad told me about it. It is an old book shop. There are 32 rooms of books. It was super cool. I'll send some pictures of that. It is in German Village also. There aren't any driveways here. Everyone just parks on the street. There are a lot of young families in our ward. That is nice the kids are funny.

Calls Every Week! -February 18, 2019

So, Sayre can call every week now. We will still update his blog with his mission stories and experiences, but we are so excited for this change. It will be a huge blessing for all of us. Sayre is was great. They had no idea the communication change was coming until they got an email. Mind blown! He is in downtown Columbus. He loves it down there. His apartment is 2 story town home and really nice. He told us this experience...
As we spoke with Sayre the other day, he told us about a recent experience he had. He said it was kind of a rough day so he went home and was studying the Bible. He read the story of Lazarus. When Christ arrived at the place where Lazarus lay. The people around him were so sad. They expressed how Jesus could have saved him if he had gotten their earlier. Jesus stood among them and wept with them. When our lives are tough. We sometimes forget how much Jesus loves us. How he would stand and weep with us if he could. 
He has also been going to the children’s hospital near his house and giving blessings to the children there. This has been a cool and humbling experience for him and Elder Henshaw.  They live near German Village. It is a cool part of town. He sent some pictures of that. He is happy serving and really appreciates everyone’s prayers. 

New Area, New Companion & Cold - February 11, 2019

Everything is great! Yes, i got the packages. They are awesome.  Oh yeah! The Bible is awesome and the Book of Mormon is great! And the chocolate are good.This week has been good. Elder Henshaw is awesome, and we are having a lot of fun. The area is downtown so it's different but way fun. Not mugged yet so that's good. Just kidding it's not that bad. It is kinda rich if we turn right but if we turn left it's a rougher area so we stay on the left side to teach. There isn't a very big teaching pool but, we are working hard to find some
The apartment is super nice. It's good to be in a biking area and my bike will be down next Friday. We bus  a lot though

Transfers went well. It's been snowy and cold but we have been trying a survey attempt to start a conversations and it's really working. We did service at a Christian church and it was fun. It's called Dream Center. We saw two hobo people fight. It was hilarious idk what else to say. Tonight we are doing dinner and tracting I think it'll be fun.
It's cold! 15? Our area is big its all of Columbus. My companion is from California by Fresno. Our ward is about 150 people. I gotta go. I'll email more next week.

Downtown Columbus...Here He Comes - February 6, 2019

I am getting transferred. I will be going to downtown Columbus. I mean DOWNTOWN. We live right in the middle of skyscrapers, I've been there once. So it will be good. I think I'm in a bike area so that will be interesting. I will email more later but I thought I'd let you know.  I don't need anything, I'm good, I'm just excited for the bible. We are just working. We don't have a dinner or anything tonight so we bought a red baron pizza and a thing to make pasta salad. So, nothing too crazy. We just did a lot of basic work. We had the linger longer and that was fun this week.  The polar vortex... Oh it was crazy! Negative 25! We stayed inside. Oh btw. My new area is going to be very different! it's gonna be a ride.
