Working Hard & Cold in Ohio - January 28, 2019

This week was good. 
We worked hard and did a lot of shoveling and stuff. It's pretty dang cold, but so it goes. We are surviving. I'm doing good. Enjoying Ohio and the work. Yeah, We are able to stay warm in the cold. Everyone Is doing good. Shannon is still great and reed and isa are the best. We didn't but we will keep looking. The ward is awesome. One member family invited us over last night to have cake. They are great. My companion is good. He is nice. Actually maybe, i do need  something? I love the bible and have been studying it a lot but I only have my quad when I was 8 and it's falling apart. If It's ever possible, I would love a new one from Deseret book? Maybe The brown genuine leather one. If not I can manage though, so it's only if you can.  I'm good. I'm happy, and working hard.  Not really any fun plans this week just the typical plans. Transfers are next week so that will be fun.
 My favorite story in the Bible is when after Christ is dead, the apostles are all lost and sad so Peter tells them he is going to go fish. So the apostles follow and the fish all night long but never catch anything. Finally in the morning a figure that they don't recognize tells them to cast their nets on the right side and they do and catch so many fish there nets break. So Peter recognizes its the resurrected Jesus Christ so he jumps out of the boat to get to him faster. After they land Jesus Christ sits with all of them and asks Peter "Lovest thou me more then these?" referring to the fish. Peter says he loves him. And is asked two more times the same question. Peter says he loves him. To all three and he tells him to follow him. He allows Peter to repent of denying him. It's the best. Peter is one of my favorite people to study.

Snow, Snow, Cold, Ice, & Snow - January 21, 2019

Well Friday it started snowing so we couldn't leave because the roads were so bad, Saturday we couldn't leave either the car wouldn't start today or yesterday. It was nuts. This storm was crazy. It snowed about 16 inches in one day and we weren't allowed to drive our car yesterday because it was so bad. It's been crazy. It was -6 this morning. The boots are a God send. My feet never get wet. We helped Jimmy take down his Christmas lights and that was fun. He's a member

Dumped snow & Peter - January 14, 2019

Hey Everyone, 
This week was good. We had interviews with President and those are always great. No we didn't have a baptism yet. It will be a little later in the year. The weather is cold. It DUMPED one night so now there is about 6 inches of snow. Still warm though. I got a letter from grandma, which are always great. He is pretty cool, John the Baptist. Peter is by far my favorite though. Because he had so many flaws but Jesus helped him. He's awesome! Study him. I'm good and happy.

Dog Bite, Packages, & Football - January 7, 2019

This week was great! 
The weather has been like 50 degrees and sunny. Not what you expect in January in Ohio, but I'm not complaining. I'm doing good. I loved The olan rogers picture and the spatulas, the kit kats, and the hand warmers. The people in Ohio are great, this week Shannon our friend on date for Saturday bore her testimony and it was amazing! Her and her two kids are awesome and so sweet! Two hour church was strange but the highlight was getting to help with the linger longer, the Stewart's are awesome! Some of my favorite members on my mission and she blew all linger longers out of the water. It was super good breakfast food, but the highlight was brother Stewart making tons of pancakes while in church dress and a chef's jacket. It was so much fun. 

I forgot,  but this week i went on exchange with elder Johnson. Right off the bat we tried to stop by a less active and a dog is out front. We say hi to it and start walking up to the house and it keeps like running away and coming back, we get like 10 feet from the door and it turns and bites Elder Johnson hard on the arm luckily the owner came out and shewed it away and the dog ran off. Now the dog is being watched for rabies. We then checked out his arm and cleaned out the bite cut then played football again with members of the ward. An eventful exchange

For my year mark dinner we went to cracker barrel!!! I was so excited it was awesome. Elder Norris hadn't been there before, but he loves it now too. I have pics of that too. 

Tell Elly to serve a mission. Missions are the best thing you can do. She can worry about college later.

This week has been great! Miss you all too.

New Years - December 31, 2018

This week was good. We had a lot of fun and success. We played football and taught a bunch of people. It was a good time. Not much else happened. Pretty basic week. The e sports place looks sweet that you went to.

The Book of Mormon is sweet! I've been marking it up 

We will be just sitting at our apt for new year, so that’ll be a party. 

New Years honestly feels like another day. It feels like time doesn't exist as a missionary it's weird. I'm good though. Happy and chugging along

Kate said she got the video. She said I sound super funny with my accent. 

Playing football was fun we are super sore. Thats awesome that Elly wants to go on a mission! Elly will love a mission 

Shannon will be baptized on the 12th.

 My favorite talked by Thomas s monson is called finding joy in the journey. You would like it. 

Its the usual stress around here. But I don't mind. I figure everyone deserves someone to worry about them. 

Yeah I'm all good. We will just Eat the cookies probably. We have exchanges tomorrow. So they'll probably eat them when I’m gone. 

No dinners this week, but we have lunch on Saturday with the Stewart's. I don't mind cooking so it's alright. 

Yeah, it's difficult sometimes but it always gets better. That's gonna be crazy being on the Las Vegas strip on New Years.

Sayre’s Christmas Skype - December 25, 2018

Sayres Skype Call - Christmas 2018

A lady from their ward bought them gift cards to Bob Evans for Christmas Eve dinner. They were so grateful and loved the meal. Sayre says it is a good place to eat.

Hannah has been the biggest miracle of his mission. It was an amazing experience and he loves the Fischer’s. Brother Fischer helped him and his companion get out from being stuck in the mud. They were so grateful for him and his family’s kindness. They surprised him with the news that Hannah was getting baptized and it was amazing. Their family is getting sealed in a few months. We have to go back and visit them. 

Everyone loves the crappy Browns, and the Cleveland Indians. The Indians are pretty good. 

Kirtland was amazing. They were able to have a Christmas meeting there and tour the grounds. The church is across the street from the Johnson farm. The upstairs room is where Joseph Smith had the vision for the plan of salvation. Joseph and Hyrum were there. They received revelation and would ask each other if they got the same revelation and they did every time. One of the concerts was able to be confirmed in that room. The spirit was amazing. They also took another investigator family there who had a little girl. She stood on the table and started singing "I am a Child of God." It was a great experience. He loves the historical sites and wants to go back. 

He had Christmas morning with a family that has young boys so that was fun to play with their toys and stuff. He is grateful for the Stewart’s and all they’ve done for him. They were going on a car scavenger hunt on Christmas with them. 

He comes home around December 15th and so he will only miss one Christmas. 

There are 2 sets of elders and 6 sets of sisters. The elders are killing it and teaching a lot more people. They are working hard. 

It is cold there and wet all of the time. 

Civil war stuff there? There are civil war battle fields and stuff around there but he hasn’t seen any yet except for a cemetery. 

What is the town like?Just a lot of stores, pretty normal

Companion?He likes his companion, Elder Norris. He is from Richfield, Utah.  His best friend on his mission is Elder Hooper. The mission president called him one night and said are you ready to train? Sayre said "no." So the mission president said ok I’ll See you in the morning, but He is so glad that he met him. One night he said that Sayre was his best friend. They got a long really well. He is from Arizona. So he can see him after the mission. 

Christmas presents?I got good presents. Everything fit. 

Mission president?Love the mission president. He got rid of all of the boundaries so we just have the wards now. Super kind and sincere. 

Singing in church?He has sang in every ward he has been in so far and at two baptisms. He sang in church for the Christmas program. They told the story of the German and American soldiers who sang Silent Night. Sayre sang it in English and the other guy sang it in German. They stood across the stage. 

Food?He eats good. Members feed them a lot of pizza. He never wants pizza again after his mission, but his is grateful for the food! 

Best thing about Ohio?Ohio is kind of a hole. There is a lot of meth there. A lot of very different people. His companion met a man once and while they were having dinner he asked them if they believed in Jesus. They said "yes". The guy then turned his head and said "well I’m here!" Ohio has a lot more weird people than Las Vegas and there is not much to do. He misses Las Vegas and all there is do to there. He knows that he was called to Ohio for a reason though and loves serving there. 

Things people say in Ohio? They call vacuuming and lawn mowing sweeping. They call soda, "pop". 

FHE, Lots of Pictures, & A New Companion - December 19, 2018

Hey,

I'm good. I got your Christmas packages. I did not get transferred, but elder Baldwin is leaving. I got Brodey's package. I opened it! It is sweet! The socks are awesome too.
yeah, i have enough presents. I sent your package today. Its not great, but hopefully you all like it. The magic cards are for Brodey in the package.
I'm a little stressed, but it'll be good. Me and Elder Baldwin found more new investigators last week then our entire zone combined. It was awesome. I have no clue where my new companion is from. I've only seen him once. OK i will take some good pictures of Christmas. I took some with the camera I have. I'm gonna start using it.
When I email next Monday, i will tell you the time that we will be skyping. we are going to Skype from the Stewart's. 

Our investigators are doing good. We have two on date and 3 came to church this week.

The family home evening at the Johnson farm was fun. We got to take a tour where the plan of salvation was given and where Joseph Smith was tared and feathered. It was cool.  We are going to try the pizza place tonight for pizza pie Friday for you guys. I'll let you know how it is. 

I'm happy and chugging along.
